A Kiwanis K-Kids Club has been formed at the St. Cloud Eastside Boys and Girls Club.  K-Kids is a "student-led" community-service organization.  Its motto is "Young Leaders Helping Others."  K-Kids is the youngest and fastest growing service organization for elementary students worldwide.  These clubs are ideally suited for students in grades 4 & 5.  When joining the K-Kids Club, students take the following pledge:  "As a K-Kid, I promise to serve my neighborhood and my school; I will show respect toward my environment; and I will try to make the world a better place in which to live.

The K-Kids Club began with an informational meeting on March 3, 2011.  With great enthusiasm from the kids, a second meeting was held on March 15th to elect officers.  And on March 17th, St. Cloud Kiwanis Club President, Jan Zitzow, along with Kiwanis liaison to the K-Kids, Major Manuel Madrid conducted and Officer induction ceremony.  The club is being advised by Mr. Jeff Hauge, unit director at the Eastside Boys and Girls Club.  Club meetings are held each Thursdays at 4 PM at the Eastside Boys and Girls Club facility.  The St. Cloud Kiwanis Club has pledged to help support and guide the K-Kids Club.
